Our Projects: DOLPHIN SAFE

In cooperation with Earth Island Institute, USA, GRD implements the International Monitoring Program (IMP) for dolphin-friendly tuna to save thousands of whales and dolphins from dying as bycatch. Under this program, fishermen and traders commit themselves not to offer tuna caught with driftnets or by encircling dolphins. GRD publishes a regularly updated list of the approved German tuna importers and brands.
